Fernando Tavares has 30 years of experience in the construction industry, starting as an accountant and progressing through the ranks as a project accountant, field engineer, scheduler, estimator, superintendent, project manager and project director. Fernando has been involved in all phases of project management, from initial planning and budgeting, estimating, and construction management, ensuring compliance with the project’s requirements and schedule.
Also during the past twelve years, Fernando was the project manager for the following projects: South Street Landing, 275 Albany Street, Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Providence Schools and D Street Hotels.
BRIAN F. LaBONTE
Demolition/Hazardous Regional Manager
Brian F. LaBonte has more than 18 years of experience in the construction industry. Brian is responsible for project scheduling, budget and ensuring a timely completion of our demolition, asbestos abatement and lead projects.
DANIEL RAY
Project Manager
Daniel Ray has 17 years of experience in the construction industry with a primary focus on exterior metal panels. Dan is responsible for all phases of project management from estimating, ensuring compliance with the project's requirements and schedule, review of shop drawings for conformance to contract documents, coordination of material deliveries, preparation of monthly payment applications and managing labor production.
JAMES CARBERRY
Project Manager
James Carberry has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, starting as a yardman/truck driver and progressing through the ranks as an estimator, field engineer and superintendent. Jim has hands on experience with the following aspects of building construction as he has self-performed concrete work, wood and steel framing, insulation and drywall, finish carpentry, roofing, flooring, minor masonry work, plumbing, heating, electrical and earth work.
JOHN STOMBERG
Corporate Safety Officer/General Labor Foreman
John has worked in the construction industry for more than 35 years. He is responsible for the safety of our Company employees, contractors, jobsite visitors, and anyone whose business operations are impacted by construction activities.
John provides leadership and support for achieving our Company safety and health goals. He ensures that our training programs deliver the needed skills to enable our employees to work safely.
PAULA LISA
Assistant Project Manager
Paula has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. The various roles that she has experienced through these years have given her an overall knowledge of all facets of construction.
She assists the project managers and superintendents in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure that costs, schedules, document controls and quality standards are met. She prepares contracts, reviews owner contracts, develops and manages the submittal log, reviews shop drawings/product data for contract adherence.
JOHN “JACK” KOWAL
General Superintendent
John “Jack” Kowal has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. The wide varieties of projects that he has supervised have made him an invaluable resource for Tavares, LLC.
He is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects from start to finish. Jack ensures timely material deliveries, and maintains required work force for a timely completion.
DEBRA L. SPINDLER
Contract Administrator/Billing Specialist
Debra Spindler has more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, starting as an Administrative Assistant for a leading asbestos abatement company. She progressed through the ranks to become a Contract Administrator and Billing Specialist.
EILEEN BAEZ
Accounting
Eileen has experience in the accounting field. With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and prior experience in accounting, Eileen has developed the necessary skills to keep flourishing in her career.
She is responsible for accounts receivable, daily cash accounting, preparing invoices, as well as certified payroll and payroll reporting.
SAYUMI TANI
Accounting/Finance Manager
Sayumi has experience in business banking and earned her accounting degree from CCRI.
She is responsible for all accounting services ranging from accounts payable, accounts receivable and all daily financial functions. Sayumi has the skills necessary to be a valuable Team Member of Tavares, LLC.
